In early November, new toys were listed on Amazon, showing off some of the new Bakugan and the [[Attribute#New System|new attribute symbols]].

The Bakugan.com official site, leading up to December 1st, had a sign-up form for email newsletters regarding ''Battle Planet'' information, as well as a countdown to December 1st. After December 1st, no new information was revealed, but a new countdown timer was set to December 17th, promising that "all will be revealed." There were two other notable changes: the sign-up form changed, from simply prompting "Enter Your Birthday" then asking for an email, to "Sign up for our Baku-Blast! Enter your age to begin," as well as a new "Incoming Transmission" message at the top of screen which, upon clicking, would play a short clip of an unknown Pyrus Dragonoid blasting fire at the screen before returning to the main page.

Bakugan.com finally launched on December 17th, the website includes sections about the products, characters, and Bakugan.

The anime premiered on December 23rd, 2018 but officially started airing new episodes in January. The toyline also was released starting January 1st.

Like the original series, ''Bakugan Battle Planet'' will have an integrated toy line featuring physical toys, marble-like balls that transform into collectible characters once rolled over a magnetic object, this time a hexagonal tile called a [[BakuCore]]. Along with the physical game, a mobile app (Bakugan Fan Hub) and online integration also have been launched.

The ''Bakugan Battle Planet'' line of product brings with it two modes of play: the ''[[Bakugan Battle Planet: Toy Battling Game]]'' and the ''[[Bakugan Battle Planet: Trading Card Game]]''. The ''Toy Battling Game'' is a simpler game using only the Bakugan marbles and their corresponding Character Card and Bakucores. The ''Trading Card Game'' further adds a 40-card deck of Ability Cards and more rules to the game.

The product line released in North America and other select markets on January 1, 2019, with a full global roll-out in the second quarter.

There are two type of Bakugan, Core Bakugan ($7 USD) are the basic Bakugan that are simple to close. [[Bakugan Ultra]] ($10 USD) Bakugan have more complex designs and have the ability to jump and flip the BakuCore.

The BakuCore has replaced [[Gate Cards]], they are metal, hexagonal tiles that can increase/decrease B-Power (renamed G-Power), increase Damage, and other effects. Ability Cards also return but players can use up to 40 now rather than 3. Each Bakugan now comes with a [[Character Card (Battle Planet)|Character Card]] that lists their stats, name, and Faction.

Some products with multiple Bakugan include [[Starter Pack (Battle Planet)|Starter Pack]]s, [[Battle Pack (Battle Planet)|Battle Pack]]s, and the [[Battle Brawlers Starter Set]]. Other accessories include the [[Baku-Storage]] and [[Bakugan Battle Arena (Battle Planet)|Bakugan Battle Arena]].

Ability Cards can be collected from [[Battle Brawlers Booster Pack]]s and [[Battle Brawlers Card Collection]]s. A Card list can be found [[Battle Brawlers (Card set)|here]].

Due to Sega Toys owning the designs to the Legacy Bakugan, SpinMaster cannot reproduce old Bakugan such as [[Neo Dragonoid]] and [[Alpha Hydranoid]]. The same factor is with the original [[Attribute]] symbols, which have been redesigned, Attributes are now called [[Faction]]s. The elemental symbols are also no longer printed on the Bakugan.

The following changes were made between the English and Japanese versions of the anime:

*Some scenes are altered due to having violent or dangerous imagery, switched around, or not in the English broadcast.
**In the Japanese version of ''[[Monkey See, Monkey Don't]]'', the flames are orange, but the English broadcast changed the flames to a purple color.
*The Japanese version uses its own soundtrack as well as a Opening and Ending theme with many scenes that do not take place in the anime.
*The B-Power of Bakugan (commonly 600) does not exist in the Japanese version

==Plot==
[[Shun]] has been battling far more frequently since taking the position of leader of the [[Battle Brawlers|Brawlers]], and it's starting to take its toll on him. However, he is more determined than ever to put a stop to the chaotic battling when [[Mechtogan]]s are allowed in battles and Shun decides to enter the Battle Royale to stop them. Things get tough when he goes up against [[Robin (Mechtanium Surge)|Robin]] from [[Team Anubias]] and [[Soon]] from [[Team Sellon]], who each uses [[Bolcanon]] and [[Krowll]], each equipped with their [[BakuNano]]s, [[Hyper Pulsor]] and [[Slicerix]]. Shun and [[Taylean]] fight them but start losing. Shun and Taylean fight on. However, Taylean spawns a Mechtogan called [[Silent Strike]], making things even more complicated. Shun tries his best to defeat it to no avail, and Silent Strike defeats both Bolcanon and Krowll. Shun is then rescued by [[Rafe]] and [[Paige]] with their [[Bakugan]], [[Boulderon]] and [[Wolfurio]]. After Silent Strike flees, Rafe and Paige reveal that they are a [[Neathian]] and [[Gundalian]], respectively. They tell Shun and [[Marucho]] that the Mechtogan are the offspring of chaos when there is a lack of sync between a brawler and their Bakugan. They also say that [[Princess Fabia]] has sent them to learn from the Brawlers. Shun however, refuses their help and leaves while Marucho's father asks him to quit the Brawlers, surprising Marucho.

*This is the second episode in all the seasons where something other than a Bakugan appears on the commercial screen (Mechtogan) and the brawlers logo do not appear either. (The first was Fortress trap in New Vestroia)
*Even though Dan was disqualified for using Mechtogan in his battle with Anubias, Sellon, Shun and Anubias weren't disqualified when they used their Mechtogan and instead took the win. This could mean that Interspace's Computer Administration has now allowed Mechtogan to be used with no disqualification.
**However, in [[Evil Arrival]], it is implied by [[Julie]] that Mechtogan are still illegal in battles.
*This episode marks the first appearance of [[Rafe]], [[Paige]], [http://bakugan.wikia.com/wolfario Wolfurio] and [[Boulderon]].
*Marucho's father makes his first appearance since season 1.
*During the battle royale, Soon activates Krowll's ability Screw Ripper, but instead says Bolcanon's ability name Pummel Bouler. The same goes for Robin who activates Pummel Bouler, but says Screw Ripper.
*This is one of the few episodes (at least in the original version) of Season 4 where OST from Season 1 and 2 is used (specifically [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6X8XtMHfwA Runo's Theme] when Soon summons Slicerix BakuNano).
