He is the current [[Partner Bakugan]] of [[Shun Kazami (Reboot)|Shun Kazami]], with the exception of being replaced by [[Sharktar]] in ''[[Bakugan: Geogan Rising|Geogan Rising]]'' until the latter became the guardian of both the Aquos Crystal and Aquos Artifact before Hydorous awakened from hibernation and returned to Shun in ''[[Bakugan: Evolutions|Evolutions]]''.  A [[Darkus#Reboot|Darkus]] Hydorous variant also appears in [[Outer Demons]], controlled by [[Shun's Doppelganger]].
