The '''Start Phase''' is the very first phase of each [[Turn|turn]]. It consists of two steps: the Draw Step and the Energize Step.

The Draw Step is first thing that happens during the Start Phase. During this step, each player simultaneously draws a card and places it in their hand. If a player is unable to draw a card, they do not lose the game, as players can only lose through either [[Damage]] or the [[Dragonoid Maximus (Pyrus Card)|Dragonoid Maximus Evo Card]].

During the Energize Step, each player may [[Energy Card|Energize]] a card from their hand. This is the only time a player can Energize a card.
