From The Bakugan Wiki

Bbp aurelus.png Aurelus (オーレラス, Ōrerasu?) is one of the six elemental Factions that Bakugan can belong to. It is a mysterious, elusive Faction characterized by raw, golden energy. The region on Vestroia where Aurelus Bakugan reside is known as Aureopolis.

Information[edit]

Aurelus is a new Faction in Battle Planet that replaces Subterra from the Legacy era (the elements of Subterra(earth) have been merged with the Ventus Faction). Unlike all other Factions, Aurelus doesn't represent some element, instead having powerful Bakugan with their own unique abilities.

Color Scheme & Design[edit]

The main colors of Aureus Bakugan are a deep, caramel like, gold, silver, and metallic dark grey. Bright gold was added in Armored Alliance and black was added in Geogan Rising. In the anime, Golden Bakugan's color scheme ranges between light and dark shades of yellow and golden-yellow. Late wave Battle Planet Aurelus Bakugan used a brighter gold instead of the caramel color.

In Evolutions the color scheme of all factions were completely changed. Aurelus Bakugan during this set of products were a sparkly yellow with with silver and bright gold as secondary highlights and bronze as an accent color.

The Aurelus Faction symbol has been redesigned, and is printed on the top left of all Aurelus Character Cards and left of the type box on all other Aurelus Ability Cards, starting from the Armored Alliance card expansions on wards all Bakugan have the faction Symbol Printed on them as well, in addition to appearing as a watermark in the text box on cards. It appears as a gear or intricate coin.

Notable Users[edit]

The only known Aurelus Bakugan in Bakugan Battle Planet are Pyravian, Tiko, Goreene, and Tryhno, all of which have no owners and acted as the Bakugan Council before the Great Collision.

In Bakugan: Armored Alliance, several new Aurelus Bakugan are introduced: Pharol and Auxillataur with their Brawler, Ajit, who is the first Aurelus Brawler in the reboot series; and additional members of the Supreme Council: Etris, Zellus, and Garillion.

In Bakugan: Geogan Rising, five new Aurelus Bakugan have been introduced: Pincitaur, who is the new main Bakugan of Ajit; Viloch, who was a member of the Supreme Council; Spartillion, former enforcer of the Supreme Council and former partner of Gregorius Reed who is the new second Aurelus Brawler; three Auratoa, guardians of the Supreme Council; and an Aurelus King Cubbo, who is the leader of a Cubbo Village on Vestroia.

Physical Game[edit]

Gameplay[edit]

For a list of all cards in the Aurelus Faction, see Category:Aurelus Cards.

Aurelus Bakugan are generally more powerful than other Factions in terms of B-Power and Damage, and Aurelus is the only faction to have access to all three combat keywords, with Aurelus Titan Hydorous from Battle Brawlers having all three keywords active. However, they very rarely have support in the game, with the only Aurelus-attributed cards in the first two expansions being Evo Cards. The third expansion, Age of Aurelus, focuses on exploring Aurelus Bakugan and features the first Aurelus Cards (Action, Flip, and Hero), with Evos, Baku-Gear (Armored Alliance) and Geogan (Geogan Rising) cards being the usual Ability cards in every card set.

In Shields of Vestroia, an Aurelus Action Card, Pyro Storm, was introduced, as well as the Aurelian Accelerator and Combo Cannon Baku-Gear cards.

Aurelus Bakugan from Battle Planet and Armored Alliance were packaged with a Faction Ability Card based on the the Bakugan's Faction from the anime (If it's native to Aurelus, the card may differ). For example, Hydorous is Aquos in the anime, so a solo Bakugan Ultra pack of Aurelus Hydorous Ultra comes with Counter Aquos, a card of the Aquos Faction. The only exceptions are Aurelus Bakugan released during the Age of Aurelus and Armored Elite sets, alongside the Aurelus Gillator Ultra Gear Solo and the Aurelus Trox Gear Deka. During Geogan Rising and in the Aurelus Eenoch Ultra Gear Solo, Dual Faction Ability Cards were packaged instead.

Trivia[edit]

  • This is the first new Attribute (now called Faction) to be introduced into the Bakugan game since the pre-HSP release of Bakugan Battle Brawlers, which introduced Ventus.
  • In the anime, Aurelus is initially not referred to by name. Aurelus Bakugan are instead called "Golden Bakugan".

Etymology[edit]

The name Aurelus comes from "aurum", the Latin word for gold, in reference to the gold primary color of an Aurelus Bakugan.
