Aurelus

Aurelus (オーレラス, Ōrerasu?) is a mysterious Faction (possibly of Creation) introduced in Bakugan Battle Planet.

Aurelus Bakugan, alternatively called Golden Bakugan, Gold Bakugan (ゴールド爆丸, Gōrudo Bakugan?) in the Japanese version, have a gold color scheme alongside high B-Power and Damage rating. Only the 3rd card set of every Season comes with few Aurelus Action, Flip and Hero cards, with Evos, Baku-Gear (Armored Alliance) and Geogan (Geogan Rising) cards being the usual Ability cards in every card set. Aurelus Bakugan come with Aurelus Character Cards but come with a Faction Card based on the the Bakugan's Faction from the anime (If it's native to Aurelus, the card may differ). For example, Hydorous is Aquos in the anime, so a solo Bakugan Ultra pack of Aurelus Hydorous Ultra comes with Counter Aquos, a card of the Aquos Faction. The only exceptions are Aurelus Bakugan released during the Age of Aurelus and Armored Elite sets, alongside the Aurelus Gillator Ultra Gear Solo and the Aurelus Trox Gear Deka.

Despite some misconceptions, Aurelus is a new Faction in Battle Planet that replaces Subterra from the Legacy era (the elements of earth/Subterra have been merged with the Ventus Faction). [1]

Notable Users[edit]

The only known Aurelus Bakugan in Bakugan Battle Planet are Pyravian, Tiko, Goreene, and Tryhno, all of which have no owners and acted as the Bakugan Council before the Great Collision.

In Bakugan: Armored Alliance, several new Aurelus Bakugan are introduced: Pharol and Auxillataur with their Brawler, Ajit, who is the first Aurelus Brawler in the reboot series; and additional members of the Bakugan Council: Etris, Zellus, and Garillion.

In Bakugan: Geogan Rising, five new Aurelus Bakugan have been introduced: Pincitaur, who is the new Main Bakugan of Ajit; Viloch , who is a member of the Supreme Council; Spartillion, former enforcer of the Supreme Council and current Main Bakugan of Gregorius Reed who is the new 2nd Aurelus Brawler; three Auratoa, guardians of the Supreme Council; and an Aurelus King Cubbo, who is the leader of a Cubbo Village on Vestroia

Gameplay[edit]

For a list of all cards in the Aurelus Faction, see Category:Aurelus Cards.

Aurelus Bakugan are generally more powerful than other Factions in terms of B-Power and Damage. However, they very rarely have support in the game, with the only Aurelus-attributed cards in the first two expansions being Evo Cards. The third expansion, Age of Aurelus, focuses on exploring Aurelus Bakugan and features the first Aurelus action cards, with Shields of Vestroia having a new Aurelus action card called Pyro Storm.

The primary color is a brown-ish yellow designed to resemble gold. The secondary color for larger highlights is a silvery gray, and the tertiary color used for smaller highlights is a dark gray. In the anime, Golden Bakugan's color scheme ranges between light and dark shades of yellow and golden-yellow.

Trivia[edit]

  • This is the first new Attribute (now called Faction) to be introduced into the Bakugan game since the pre-HSP release of Bakugan Battle Brawlers, which introduced Ventus.
  • In the anime, Aurelus is not referred to by name. Aurelus Bakugan are instead called "Golden Bakugan".

Etymology[edit]

The name Aurelus comes from "aurum", the Latin word for gold, in reference to the gold primary color of an Aurelus Bakugan.
