HSP card series
These are the first card format of Bakugan Battle Brawlers named Holo Sector Point, also known as "HSP". East Asia have their own version of the HSP format and has been Americanized for the North American localization. The Holo Sector Point's physical game's fonction has been adapted in other medias like rank points in the anime Bakugan Battle Brawlers and credit points in the video game Bakugan Battle Brawlers, but was abandoned in the Legacy 's physical game format soon after.
Due to its quick adaptation and marketing, some contents had change like Bakugan names, physical look, descriptions and stats on cards.

Card's Characteristics[edit]
North American's HSP card
- They have a faced down red back with a Bakugan logo.
- The copyright mark is inside the card, down left (Bakugan™ 2006 Spin Master LTD. & Sega Toys).
- “CO”, “CC”, “NO” and “SP” are meant for Command Card, Character Card, Normal Card and Special Command Card (“SM” written next to those abbreviations is for Spin Master).
- All attributes are there.
- Multiple card sets exist following by a new letter inside the serial code.
- Some cards are English only, English with a revised text/stats and English revised text/stats following with a French text, but all keep the same serial code, which may cause confusion to their original first prints and their new ones.
- North American's HSP format don’t have Ability Cards.
East Asia's HSP card
- They have a faced down black back with an English writhed Bakugan logo.
- The copyright mark of the beginning prints of the BA (JP) series is placed down right, down faced the card (©Sega Toys / Spin Master).
- The copyright mark of later prints of the BA (JP) series is place inside the card, down in the middle (©Bakugan Project ● テレビ東京● 電通).
- The copyright mark of the second set BB (JP) is placed inside the card, down in the middle for Normal, Character, Command and Special card, but is placed inside the card, down left for the Ability ones (©Bakugan Project TV Tokyo Dentsu).
- “CO”, “EL”, “NO” “SP” and “AB” are meant for Command Card, Character Card, Normal Card, Special Card and Ability Card.
- Some cards from Ver. 1.0 to Ver. 2.0 format don’t have the Ventus attribute because it was not released yet.
- The names of the characters and card types are written in English.
- The Japanese HSP own Ability Cards and their code follows with “-AB” (only released on Ver. 2.1 to 3.0).
- Ability card appears in later prints of the BA (JP) series, starting at BA269-AB.
- Ventus attribute appears in later prints of the BA (JP) series, starting at BA343-AB.
- The Korean Bakugan logo is changed and have a Korean writhed title with a silver finish. They also have changed all Japanese description titles and turn them to their language.
- About the packaging of the first Battle pack (Ver. 1.0), humain characters aren't on the label, they appear in later releases.

Those cards came in 4 different types; Normal (NO), Character (CC), Command (CO) and Special (SP).

Those cards came in 5 different types; Normal (NO), Character (EL), Command (CO), Special (SP) and Ability (AB).
- Some of those cards contain Ventus attribute.
- Copyright inside the card change regularly and move right to middle to left depending of the graphic done to it.
