Because all contribution to the wiki are licensed under Creative Commons, the Bootleg Wiki will only accept images from the following sources:

The only outside images we accept on the wiki are from official sources, such as official images from the manufacturer, images from official media, and patents. Images not compliant with this policy and the Bakugan Wiki's policy are subjected to removal.

Image Quality[edit]

At the Bootleg Wiki, we strive for clear images to portray our article subjects. Images that are too blurry, too small, marked by large watermarks, or have qualities that makes the image inadequate to depict a subject is subjected to removal. However, there are cases where the best available image is in poor condition, in which case images of poor quality may be allowed, under the condition that it will be replaced if images of better qualities are found.

Image Naming[edit]

To separate bootleg images from the main Bakugan Wiki, all images uploaded for the Bootleg Wiki must follow a strict naming guideline. Images following every guideline except this will be renamed.

The generic naming scheme is

Bootleg_SeriesName_ImageSubject_TypeOfImage_Notes

Underscores separate each category. Pascal case should be used for multiword entries.

Bootleg: This prefix must precedes every single image uploaded for Bootleg Wiki purposes. This is to differentiate our images from official Bakugan images on the main wiki.

SeriesName : The name of the series the image comes from. Use official English name if possible, otherwise use an adequate English translation. If the image is to be used for meta-wiki purposes, this category should be Meta. This category must be filled.

ImageSubject : The subject of the image. This could be the toy name, logos, episodes, etc. This category should use official English translations, else use an adequate English translation if not available. If the image is of a card, serial code of the card is preferred over card name. This category must be filled.

TypeOfImage: The form of the image. This category can be one of the following

  • Photo: Real photo of the subject. Images of actual physical toys taken out of the box falls under this.
  • Comparison: Image that compares other toys to the subject.
  • Packaging: Packaging of the toy.
  • Render: Rendered image of CAD models. This category should only be used for toys.
  • Art: Non-physical, non-CAD images of the subject. This includes character art, CGI models, sketches that are not indicative of the actual toy.
  • Card: The image is a card.
  • Screenshot: Screenshot of an episode or official media.

For simple images like logos, this category can be omitted.

Notes: additional notes about the image. This category can include

  • Language: The language of the subject. Language should use ISO 639 language shorthands. Multilingual can be indicated by additional Notes.
  • Media: The form the image can be found in. This could be Comic, LiveAction, or if a screenshot, the timestamp of the screenshot.
  • Position: The position of the subject this image depicts.
Examples
Bootleg Meta WikiLogo.png Bootleg_Meta_WikiLogo. This is used for meta-wiki purposes, thus it's denoted with Meta
Bootleg EonsterHunter FireDragon Render Open.png Bootleg_EonsterHunter_FireDragon_Render_Open. The bootleg series name comes after Bootleg and is written in Pascal case. This is a render of a toy that would become a physical toy, thus it's denoted with Render. The toy is in it's opened position, thus it's denoted with Open.
Bootleg EonsterHunter FireDragon Render Closed.png Bootleg_EonsterHunter_FireDragon_Render_Closed. This is the same toy as above, but in a different position, thus it's denoted with Closed.
Bootleg EonsterHunter Logo VI.png Bootleg_EonsterHunter_Logo_VI. This is a logo, thus a majority of the category is omitted. VI is the language code for Vietnamese.
Bootleg EonsterHunter FireDragon Packaging ZH.png Bootleg_EonsterHunter_FireDragon_Packaging_ZH. This is the Chinese version of the packaging.
Bootleg EonsterHunter 1001 Card ZH.png Bootleg_EonsterHunter_1001_Card_ZH. This is a Chinese card from the series. Instead of card name, the card's serial code is used instead. This is to prevent confusion and ease cataloging. Because an English version exist, a language code is necessary.
Bootleg EonsterHunter FireDragon Art 1.png Bootleg_EonsterHunter_FireDragon_Art_1. This is a CGI of a character that is not used for toy production. Presumably it's the first of other arts, thus it is numbered.
