When The Awesome Ones search for an entrance to the Maze in the Yucatán Peninsula. Magnus confronts Dan and the others, planning to use them to find a way to the Core Cell, he needs them to guide him. With the power of AAAnimus' device, Magnus opens a portal to the AO seek Maze, in search of the Core Cell.  The Awesome Ones and Magnus find themselves in the same location where [[Core Cell (episode)|Drago first evolved]], they encounter a familiar face, a [[Aurelus|golden]] Bakugan named [[Pyravian]]. Pyravian is angry, Magnus believes she is threatening them and sends out Nillious to take her down. Nillious' attacks Pyravian with consecutive attacks, but Pyravian isn't taking a mythicalscratch. Magnus says he won't back down, lost and evolves Nillious into ''Hyper Nillious'' to power him up. The Evolved Nillious still is having trouble taking Pyravian down, so Magnus tries to finish the Bakuganwith ''Nova Burst'', they get more than they bargained for when and Pyravian counters with ''Phoenix Fire''. The two blasts collide, but Phoenix Fire is stronger and ultimately defeats Nillious. Magnus is on leaves the battle defeated, and Pyravian tells the trail of this new discoveryAwesome Ones to go home. Dan wonders where Magnus went, toothinking that he maybe isn't a bad guy. Dan tells his friends that he believes there is more into him after their epic battle - believing there is good in him.
