1. General Gameplay Where can I find the official Bakugan game rules? Rulebooks are included in Bakugan Starter Packs, Battle Packs, tin cases, etc. If you did not get a rulebook with your Bakugan purchase, you can download the Mechtanium Surge Rulebook HYPERLINK "http://www.bakugan.com/s4/en-us/gameplay/pdf/Season4_Rulebook.pdf" \t "_blank" here and the Gundalian Invaders Rulebook HYPERLINK "http://www.bakugan.com/s4/en-us/gameplay/pdf/S3_Rules_Sheet_02_Eng.pdf" \t "_blank" here. What are the six attributes of Bakugan (also known as the six worlds of Vestroia)? The six attributes of Bakugan are Pyrus, Aquos, Ventus, Subterra, Haos, and Darkus. INCLUDEPICTURE "http://www.bakugan.com/s4/en-us/gameplay/images/Attributes.png" \* MERGEFORMATINET What is an Attribute? An Attribute is the color/symbol on your Bakugan: Pyrus, Aquos, Ventus, Darkus, Subterra, or Haos. What are the Gate Attributes? The three Gate Attributes are: Gold, Silver, and Copper, which are identified by the symbols below. BakuNano, Battle Gear and Bakugan Mobile Assaults have Gate Attributes and these Gate Attributes also refer to the color of Gate Cards in game play. INCLUDEPICTURE "http://www.bakugan.com/s4/en-us/gameplay/images/Gold.png" \* MERGEFORMATINET INCLUDEPICTURE "http://www.bakugan.com/s4/en-us/gameplay/images/Silver.png" \* MERGEFORMATINET INCLUDEPICTURE "http://www.bakugan.com/s4/en-us/gameplay/images/Copper.png" \* MERGEFORMATINET Gold AttributeSilver AttributeCopper Attribute What do I need in my set up to start playing? The following are required in your set up to play: 3 Bakugan - In any Attribute combination. 3 Gate Cards - One of each color: Gold, Copper and Silver. 3 Ability Cards - One of each color: Red, Blue and Green. The following are optional: 2 Mechtogan, Mechtogan Titans, Mobile Assaults, Battle Gears or Trap - Up to a max of 2 of any of these support pieces. 3 BakuNano - Up to a max of 3 BakuNano, in any Attribute combination (Gold, Copper or Silver). Can the three Bakugan in my set up be the same? Sure. You'll still need to have three to play the game. It is okay if all of them are the same or if your opponent has one just like yours. Can I use Bakugan of different Attributes in a game? Absolutely! Some strategies actually depend on using different Attributes. Some players prefer to specialize in just one Attribute, but there is no reason why you can't play with a variety of them. My ball didn't open up on the card, does it count as standing? Yes. Any time a ball stops moving and is on a Gate Card, it counts as standing/open. Additionally, if your Bakugan opens due to a Gate Card but rolls off of it, it counts as standing on that Gate Card. Simply move your standing Bakugan once it has stopped rolling/moving back on to the Gate Card that opened it. Are there any tips on how to roll Bakugan? There is one really good trick to getting Bakugan to open up on cards - when you roll the Bakugan, "spin" it like a top with the magnet side down while flicking it towards the Gate Cards. This small trick greatly helps in getting Bakugan to open up on cards as the magnet will almost always make contact with the metal in any card it touches! Advanced players can use this trick to curve a Bakugan so that it hits the Gate Card that is furthest away as well. But the only way to get really good at getting your Bakugan to open up is to practice. When is the start of a battle? Is it before the Gate Card is flipped over, or after? The "start of a battle" is when two opposing Bakugan stand on a Gate Card. The Card is flipped over THEN brawlers can use their Ability Cards starting with the player who landed on the Gate Card last, as they have initiated the battle and it is still their turn. Where do I find a Bakugan's G-Power? A Bakugan's G-power can't be seen until the Bakugan opens. When you first open a Bakugan package, there will be a small rectangular sticker that covers up the Bakugan's G-Power. Remove the sticker to see what the Bakugan's G-Power is. How many support pieces can I play in one battle (on one Gate Card)? This is an update to previous game play rules. You may only play 1 support piece per battle on a Gate Card. Support pieces include: Mechtogan, Mechtogan Titans, Mobile Assaults, Battle Gear and Trap. This rule does not apply to BakuNano, which have their own game play rules. What happens when I have no more Bakugan to roll? If it is your turn and you have no more Bakugan to roll (in your unused pile), simply move all of your used pile back to your unused pile, including any support pieces and BakuNano. Who wins in a tie? In the event of a tie: The battle is won by the first Bakugan that stood on the Gate Card. When I win a battle, do I get to keep my opponent's Bakugan or Gate Card forever? Definitely not! The Gate Cards are used to keep track of who is winning (first player to win 3 battles wins the game), but after the game, all game pieces are given back to their owners. Can Bakugan be played with more than two players? Sure! Check out the multiplayer rules in this FAQ. They show you how to play with 4 players. If you want to play a 2-on-2 battle like they do on the show, then use the multiplayer set-up, but sit across from your partner. Play as normal, but the first team to capture 3 (or 6 if you prefer) Gate Cards wins. 2. Gate Cards I have a card that refers to a Bronze card and another card that refers to a Copper card. Are Copper and Bronze the same? Yes. When the game refers to Copper or Bronze it is referring to the same color of the Gate Card, the Copper Gate Card. During the production phase of cards, the designers may use the color term Copper or Bronze to specify the same card. The Rainbow Gate Card is confusing. How do I use it? Each Bakugan gets a G-Power bonus for each different Attribute that the owner is using in the game. Basically, the word 'color' means 'Attribute'. The Season 1 Rainbow Gate Card can be quite confusing with its wording. The Season 2 version has been modified to help brawlers understand how to use it. What is the highlight around one of the Attribute bonuses on the Gate Card for? The highlighted (or glowing) is used for certain Special Treatment Bakugan such as White Naga or Pearl Bakugan. White Naga uses the highlighted G-Power Gate bonus to determine its Attribute. Pearl Bakugan can either take on their regular G-Power bonus on a Gate Card OR the highlighted Gate bonus... whichever one you decide! Does a player need to "activate" a Gate Card? No. Gate Cards are turned over and used when a battle occurs. A battle happens any time two Bakugan from different players open on the same card. That said, the Gate's Attribute bonus is only granted at the end of a battle after all the players have used all the Ability Cards that they want. If my opponent has a Gate Card that says his Bakugan gets the Gate bonus an extra time, does that mean that I don't get a bonus at all? No. You get your bonus as normal. Your opponent gets their normal bonus and then gets their normal bonus a second time. Do Gate Cards get replaced after they are won? Players put out new Gate Cards only when there are no Gate Cards left in the Field. There are some effects that allow Gate Cards to be played to the field in other circumstances. However, in general, Gate Cards only get placed on the battlefield when there are none left in the field. 3. Ability Cards

When I play an Ability Card that gives a G-Power bonus does my opponent also get the bonus? No. The card should be clear as to how the game play will work. For instance, it may say "Your Bakugan gains G-Power based on its Attribute." This only affects your Bakugan. How many times can I use an Ability Card in a game? Once. Then they go to your "Used Pile." There are some clever ways to get a card back from your used pile to use again, but generally, just one use of an Ability Card per game is allowed. When I play the Doom card do I get to keep my opponent's Bakugan for good? No. The Doom card just takes your opponent's Bakugan out of the game, not into your pocket! Do Ability Cards that offer bonus based on Gate Card G-Power bonuses stack? No, they do not. For example, if a Gate Card had 200 G-Power and the Ability Card doubled that, you would get 400 G-Power. If your opponent threw down the same card, he would only get 400 G-Power as well since the Ability Card boosts Gate Card G-Power, not Gate + Ability combined. 4. Power Levels What is the Power Level of a battle? Series 3 Gundalian Invaders introduced a new mechanic to the battlefield, the Power Level. The Power Level of a match refers to the total amount of Gate Cards in the used piles between both players. So, if you have 1 Gate Card in your used pile and you opponent has 1 Gate Card in their used pile the Power Level of the match is 2. Another example, if you have 2 Gate Cards in your used pile and your opponent has none, the Power Level of the match is also 2. The Power Level of a match allows the brawler to use certain cards. Some cards have a required Power Level before they can be played (denoted in the upper right hand corner with a red/orange icon and a number). How do I use a card that requires a certain Power Level before being used? Remember, the Power Level for the match is the total amount of Gate Cards in the used piles between both players (added together). If you see a Power Level indicator on an Ability Card, it means that you can't play that card until the Power Level of the match is at least equal to the Power Level listed on the card. 5. General Card Questions How can I tell the difference between a Gate Card, Ability Card and Reference card? Gate Cards have metal in the middle of them and come in three primary colors, or Gate Attributes: Gold, Silver, and Copper. They don't bend and are much heavier. Ability Cards and Reference cards bend and feel like a normal playing cards. Ability Cards come in three different primary colors: Red, Blue, and Green. Reference cards are blue on card back. Can I play with all of my Gate and Ability Cards? The current rules are that you play with 3 Gate and 3 Ability Cards. This makes choosing what to play with an important part of your strategy. Can I play with Series 1, Series 2, Series 3 and Series 4 cards at once? Sure. As long as you and your opponent both agree, feel free to use a mix of all the cards. A few of the Series 1 Gate Cards will be over-powered if you play this way, but they will still work. If you decide to go this route, try to ignore HSP and stick with the victory condition of winning three Gate Cards. How do I know what color my Gate and Ability Cards are? A card's color is decided by the "frame color." This is the color that is behind the card's name. The colors or Gate Attributes of Gate Cards are Gold, Silver and Copper. The colors of Ability Cards are Red, Blue and Green. I have a card that refers to a Bronze card and another card that refers to a Copper card. Are Copper and Bronze the same? Yes. When the game refers to Copper or Bronze it is referring to the same color of the Gate Card, the Copper Gate Card. During the production phase of cards, the designers may use the color term Copper or Bronze to specify the same card. What is a Battle Gear Reference Card? A Battle Gear Reference Card is a special card that comes with every Battle Gear piece. These cards aren't put in your used or unused pile. They are kept nearby so you can see any special rules it may have for the specific Battle Gear. Do I need to have a Battle Gear Reference Card for my Battle Gear at all times? No. You can use Battle Gear in its basic form to boost G-Powers of the Bakugan that you use it with. However, it is recommended that you always have a Battle Gear Reference Card for each Battle Gear piece in order to take advantage of the additional abilities the card allows you to have. What is a Special Evolution Bakugan Reference Card? Each Special Evolution Bakugan comes with a reference card. These cards aren't put in your used or unused pile. They are kept nearby so you can see any special rules it might have. These cards direct the brawler what is needed to bring the Special Evolution Bakugan into battle and any other additional abilities it has. A Gate Card refers to Bakugan of different 'color'. What does this mean? Basically, 'color' means 'Attribute'. Please treat the special instructions that refer to 'color' as meaning 'Attribute'. A Gate Card refers to Bakugan of different 'type'. What does this mean? Basically, 'type' means the different breed of the Bakugan, such as a Preyas, Drago, Skyress, Terrorclaw, etc. Does a Gate or Ability Card that mentions a Bakugan type also work for other forms of that Bakugan? (For example, does the Ingram Gate Card work with a Boost Ingram?) Yes AND no! Yes - Any Gate or Ability Card that states a general type of Bakugan (such as cards affecting an Ingram) will work on all other versions of that Bakugan (such as Cosmic Ingram and Boost Ingram). No - However, if a Gate or Ability Card states an affect on a specific evolution of a Bakugan (such as the card Death From Above which calls out a Boost Ingram) it does not work with other forms of Ingram (such as Ingram and Cosmic Ingram). I have a card that says something about all Bakugan "with special treatments", what are those? A special treatment Bakugan is any that doesn't look "normal." This would include any clear, translucent, pearly, heavy metal, reverse Attribute, dual Attribute, etc. Basically, if the Attribute is made of normal colored plastic then it is a normal treatment Bakugan. The Attribute switching Preyas is not a special treatment as it is made out of the correct color of plastic, but the clear version is in fact a special treatment Bakugan. If a card refers to the 'lowest printed G-Power' does altering the G-Power of a Bakugan modify this rule? No, if a card directs you to use the 'lowest printed G-Power' always refer to the printed G-Power, regardless of its modification from Ability Cards. 6. General Bakugan Questions Do Reverse Color Bakugan do anything special in battle? No. Reverse Color Bakugan do not have any special rule. They just look really cool! What is the best/most powerful/coolest/most awesome Bakugan? The one that wins the battle! Every Bakugan is good at different times if you use it well. The highest G-Power Bakugan is generally considered the "best" but there are lots of times when smaller is better. Even the lowest G-Power Bakugan can win on Duck and Win. How do I use the Attribute switching Preyas? Use it as normal. Each time it opens up, it will change to a new Attribute. The player doesn't get to change it by hand during the game by spinning it - it will change all by itself. Whatever Attribute symbol is shown when it opens is the one it is for that battle. How many different Bakugan are there? There are many types! For the complete collection listing for each Series, visit the HYPERLINK "http://www.bakugan.com/s4/collection" Bakugan and Card Collections at Bakugan.com. You can also download collection posters to mark off which Bakugan you have and which Bakugan you need. The BakuCore Bakugan are regular Bakugan that have a new look to them that play the same as other basic, regular attack Bakugan. What are BakuFlip Bakugan? What do they do in battle? Mechtogan and Mechtogan Titans What are Mechtogan and Mechtogan Titans? Mechtogan and Mechtogan Titans are Bakugan's first ever auto-transforming action figures that you can use during a battle on a Gate Card. They are not considered sole Bakugan by themselves, as they are used in battle with your standing Bakugan. The rules for Mechtogan also apply to Mechtogan Titans. How do I auto-transform my Mechtogan and Mechtogan Titans? Simply swipe the magnetic Activator card that is included with your Mechtogan against its back and watch your Mechtogan instantly pop open to reveal its G-Power. How many Mechtogan can I have in my set up? You may have up to two total support pieces, in any combination to start a game. For example, you can have 2 Mechtogans OR 1 Mechtogan and 1 Mechtogan Titan OR 1 Mechtogan and 1 Battle Gear, etc. Can I use Mechtogan or Mechtogan Titans with any series Bakugan? Yes! Mechtogan can be used in game play with any Bakugan from series 1, series 2 (New Vestroia), series 3 (Gundalian Invaders), and series 4 (Mechtanium Surge). How do I use Mechtogan in a battle on a Gate Card? For example, if you have a standing Pyrus Bakugan, then you can use a Pyrus Mechtogan from your unused pile. Use the included Activator card to auto-transform your Mechtogan and reveal its G-Power. Your Bakugan gains G-Power equal to the G-Power on the Mechtogan. You can also attach BakuNano to your Mechtogan or Bakugan for an even bigger G-Power Boost. Can I use more than one Mechtogan in a battle (on one Gate Card)? Yes! BakuNano are different than these support pieces. Remember, you can have up to 2 support pieces in addition to your 3 BakuNano. What are the BakuNano Attributes? Add the BakuNano's G-Power to your Mechtogan's or Bakugan's G-Power, whichever you choose to weaponize. To play a BakuNano in battle, simply attach it to your battling monster. If you are battling with a Bakugan that does that not have holes for BakuNano, simple transform your BakuNano and place it next to your battling monster. Can I play all of my BakuNano during one battle (on one Gate Card)? Yes! You can use all of your BakuNano in one battle (on one Gate Card). They are kept nearby so you can see any special rules it may have for the specific Battle Gear. What are the Battle Gear Gate Attributes? Battle Gear come in one of three Gate Attributes: Gold, Silver, or Copper. Each Battle Gear is marked with Gold, Silver, or Copper highlights. While Bakugan Battle Gear will only physically attach to specific Gundalian Invader Bakugan from series 3, that doesn't mean you can't (or shouldn't) use it with other series Bakugan. When using a Battle Gear with a Bakugan that does not specifically attach to its back, simply open the Battle Gear on the Gate Card in battle and process it as you normally would. 10. Bakugan Mobile Assault What are Bakugan Mobile Assaults? Bakugan Mobile Assault vehicles (BMA) are a type of Battle Gear that are used in battle. Unlike regular Battle Gear, the Bakugan themselves attached to the Bakugan Mobile Assault vehicle allowing it to have pinpoint accuracy when rolling it into battle. At the start of a new battle, place a Bakugan (magnet side down) that shares an Attribute with the BMA, onto the BMA. Roll the BMA and Bakugan onto a Gate Card to begin a battle. When in a battle, the Bakugan gains the BMA's G-Power only on the two types of Gates listed on the BMA's reference card. (Note: there are 3 types of Gates - Gold, Silver or Copper). If a battle starts on a Gate Card that does not match one of the types listed on the reference card, the BMA is destroyed (removed from the game entirely); the Bakugan inside is put on the Gate Card and continues to battle without the benefit of the BMA. Download the complete Bakugan Mobile Assault rules at the HYPERLINK "http://www.bakugan.com/s4/gameplay" Gameplay section on Bakugan.com. Can I use any series Bakugan with a Mobile Assault? You are allowed to use any Bakugan on a BMA as long as the Attribute of the Bakugan matches the Attribute of the BMA. If I use a Mobile Assault can I use another support piece in battle? No, you may only use one support piece per battle per Gate Card. Support pieces include: Mechtogan, Mechtogan Titans, Battle Gear and Trap. You may still use BakuNano to boost your Bakugan if you use a Mobile Assault. 11. BakuMutant Bakugan What are BakuMutant Bakugan? BakuMutant Bakugan are a series of Mechtanium Surge Core Bakugan that may come in a dual Attribute. BakuMutants have an upper and lower half. If a dual Attribute BakuMutant (the top half Attribute is different from the bottom half Attribute) stands on a Gate Card, you get to pick which Attribute you are after the Gate Card flips over. Add the G-Power listed on the top half of the BakuMutant to the smaller G-Power printed on the bottom half.If a single Attribute BakuMutant (the top half and bottom half are the same Attribute) stands on a Gate Card, add the G-Power listed on the top half of the BakuMutant to the larger G-Power printed on the bottom half. Can I interchange the bottom and top of a BakuMutant with a different BakuMutant? Yes, feel free to switch your BakuMutants top and bottom halves for more game play fun! 12. Double Strike Bakugan What are Double Strike Bakugan? Some Double Strike Bakugan have a second G-Power number that is revealed with the secondary action is triggered. During a battle on an enemy Gate Card, if the owning player chooses to deploy the secondary action, the Bakugan gains G-Power equal to the revealed number. Which number on a Double Strike Bakugan is the Double Strike Bonus? The smaller one. The larger one is the "Printed G-Power," and remember, you only get the Double Strike bonus when battling on your opponent's Gate Cards. 13. Sky & Gaia Dragonoid How do I use Sky and Gaia Dragonoid in battle? Roll Sky and Gaia Dragonoid into battle. If both halves of the Bakugan land on separate Gate Cards they are treated just like two separate Bakugan on two different Gate Cards. If you get both halves to land on the same Gate Card, you have to decide which Bakugan will move to the other Gate Card in play. If that starts two battles, the player who rolled Sky and Gaia Dragonoid gets to pick which battle to do first. If both halves land on the same Gate Card (and it's the last Gate Card in play) you have to decide which one will be used for battle and which one will be put into your used pile. If one half lands on a card and the other half lands elsewhere, then the other half goes to the Used pile, and it cannot be rolled again until the top half also goes to the Used pile at which time they move as a pair to the unused pile). 14. Dartaak How do I use Dartaak in battle? Roll Dartaak into battle. If it lands on a Gate Card it will shoot open.
