To run a Geogan, the Faction of the Geogan you wish to run must match the Faction of at least one of the three Bakugan on your team. The Geogan serves as an accessory to your team, it does not replace any of the Bakugan on your team. The physical Geogan toy is required to play.
Geogan Cards are specialized cards that are associated with a specific Geogan. Each Geogan must use its specific Geogan Card (for example, a Pyrus Arcleon must use the Pyrus Arcleon Geogan Card, or one of its special variants). In addition, there are three types of Geogan Cards: normal Geogan Cards, Diamond Geogan Card, and Platinum Geogan Cards. Mega Geogan cards were planned but were not sold or otherwise distributed. Whether they were produced in any capacity remains to be seen. For the EV, and EV2 and LE sets, additional Geogan were produced. There were no specific rulings made about the use of the same Faction and species of Geogan between years with the same toy, but the rulings for the unreleased Mega Geogan cards and the released Diamond Geogan cards suggest multiple of the same Geogan with the same faction from different sets can be included in the same deck and played with the same toy, with the exception of . It is unknown whether Platinum Geogan. Because of their unique physical characteristics from follow the metal componentssame ruling, Platinum Geogan cards must use the corresponding Platinum Geogan toy to be playedhowever.
To play a Geogan, you must be able to pay the Energy requirement of its card. When played, you must retract your Bakugan and drop the Geogan toy one card length onto the Hide Matrix or game field. It then follows the same rules as a normal Bakugan roll: it acquires any BakuCores it picks up and any subsequent bonuses. Since Geogan are a subtype of Bakugan, they are Reroll-able, even though they technically do not roll onto the Hide Matrix.
