Max and the other Rowdy Reds are playing with their Bakugan in a park, destroying it in the process. [[Dan Kouzo]] and [[Dragonoid (Battle Planet)|Drago]] run in to the group, and attempt to persuade them against playing so destructively. The Rowdy Reds agree, but later return to their destructive play habits. After seeing the destruction the Rowdy Reds are wreaking on [[Costero Canyada]], the Awesome Ones rush to stop the damage, and [[Dan Kouzo]] brawls all three of the Rowdy Reds. During the brawl the Awesome Ones convince the group that their methods are causing damage to the surrounding area, and later help them clean up the destruction.<ref>''[[Monkey See, Monkey Don't]]''</ref>
Some time later, he and the other Rowdy Reds are beaten and bullied out of their park by [[Marco Chezanello]]. Max is in awe of Marco's seemingly raw power, and joins him. When the Awesome Ones come to liberate the park from Marco, Max guards the entrance with a water gun. He acts as a servant to Marco, providing him juice at his request. However, as Marco's tactics become more cruel, and he sets his sights on the brawlers themselves. Distraught that Marco attack his friends, Max tries to prevent the attack. Marco's order sends Cyndeous into a fit of rage, causing him to attack randomly in all directions. One of these attacks heads for Max and Marco, but Drago shields them from the attack. While Max watches Marco ignore the sacrifice Drago had made for them, he comes to the conclusion that Marco is actually mean-spirited and cruel brawler.
