List of Symbols
There are large number of different symbols that convey different information in the Bakugan franchise. This page contains a list of symbols in the Bakugan Generation 1/Legacy Game, Generation 2 Trading Card Game, and Generation 3 game.
First Generation Symbols
Attributes
- Pyrus - Pyrus is generally considered to represent fire.
- Aquos - Aquos is generally considered to represent water.
- Subterra - Only found in Legacy/Gen 1, Subterra is generally considered to represent the earth.
- Haos - Haos is generally considered to represent light.
- Darkus - Darkus is generally considered to represent darkness.
- Ventus - Gen 1 Ventus is generally considered to represent wind.
- Gold - Only found in Generation 1, the Gold symbol is reserved for Battle Gear and BakuNano with gold-colored highlights.
- Silver - Only found in Generation 1, the Gold symbol is reserved for Battle Gear and BakuNano with silver-colored highlights.
- Copper - Only found in Generation 1, the Gold symbol is reserved for Battle Gear and BakuNano with copper-colored highlights.
Second Generation Symbols
Factions
- Pyrus - Pyrus is generally considered to represent fire.
- Aquos - Aquos is generally considered to represent water.
- Haos - Haos is generally considered to represent light.
- Darkus - Darkus is generally considered to represent darkness.
- Ventus - Generation 2 Ventus is considered to represent nature.
- Aurelus - Only found in the Generation 2, Aurelus is considered to represent raw energy.
- Diamond - Diamond is a special type of Evolution. Diamond Bakugan can be one of the six Factions, such as Diamond Dragonoid Ultra, which is a Diamond Pyrus Bakugan.
- All-Faction - Only found in Gen 2, All-Faction is a combination of all the Factions.
General Symbols
- B-Power: B-Power is the general way of determining the winner of a Bakugan brawl. Unless other conditions apply, the highest B-Power wins.
- Damage: Damage determines how much damage a player takes after losing a brawl.
- Energy: Energy determines how much an Ability Card costs to utilize.
- Fusion: Fusion Bakugan are a special type of Bakugan introduce in Armored Alliance that have two-sided Character Cards. They start out Unfused, and upon fulfilling specific conditions unique to the Bakugan, they can flip over to the Fused side of the card.
- Baku-Gear: Baku-Gear are additional game pieces that were introduced in Armored Alliance. They can be played to boost the stats of Bakugan.

- Fist: The Fist BakuCore type
- Flaming Fist: The Flaming Fist BakuCore type
- Helix: The Helix BakuCore type
- Magic Shield: The Magic Shield BakuCore type
- Shield: The Shield BakuCore type
Combat Keywords
- Add Core (Unofficial name): Adds a Core from the Hide Matrix to the player's active Bakugan.
- Draw: Draws one or more cards from the top of the player's deck.
- DoubleStrike: Makes your Bakugan deal double their damage on Victor.
- Dual Baku-Gear: Enables a Baku-Gear Card to be equipped as a second Baku-Gear.
- FrostStrike: Causes the opponent's flip cards to cost more Energy.
- Remove Core (Unofficial name): Removes a Core from the Hide Matrix from an opposing active Bakugan.
- Reroll: Allows the Bakugan to Reroll on miss.
- Scan: Lets the player look at the top card of their deck, and either leave it on top or put it at the bottom of their deck.
- ShadowStrike: Makes a Bakugan unable to have its B-Power or Damage reduced.
- Steal Core (Unofficial name): Takes a core from an opposing active Bakugan and adds it to the player's active Bakugan.
- Team Attack (Keyword): Forces a Team Attack.
Tag-Word Abilities
- Victor: Activates special effects when the Brawl is won by the Player.
- Team Attack (Tag-Word): Activates special effects when a Team Attack is initiated by the Player.
Third Generation Symbols
Clans
Clans were added in the third Generation of Bakugan, they are the replacement to Attributes/Factions, and thus have the symbols printed on the Bakugan. They generally represent groupings of Bakugan with similar physical characteristics, with the Misfit Clan being the outlier.
- Avian Clan - The Avian Clan encompasses flying or otherwise airborne Bakugan.
- Insect Clan - The Insect Clan encompasses insectoid Bakugan.
- Dino Clan - The Dino Clan encompasses prehistoric Bakugan.
- Dragon Clan - The Dragon Clan encompasses draconic Bakugan.
- Mammal Clan - The Mammal Clan encompasses mammalian Bakugan.
- Aquatic Clan - The Aquatic Clan encompasses aquatic Bakugan.
- Misfit Clan - The Misfit Clan encompasses Bakugan or Brawlers who do not fit into any of the other Clans. This symbol appears on cards as a secondary Clan symbol, denoting that the Bakugan belong to the Misfit Clan.
Colors
In Generation 3, Bakugan no longer are considered a Attribute (Pyrus), or of a Faction (Aurelus), with Clans replacing this classification. However, Bakugan can come in 5 primary Colors, but there are also Bakugan with secondary colors that are known as B.A.M. Boost.
- : Bakugan with a Red, Dark Red, Orange, and Yellow color scheme. There is a Bakugan Street Brawl Bruiser that uses a brown translucent plastic, but its Character Card classifies it as a Red Bakugan.
- : Bakugan with a Lime, Dark Green, Yellow, and Pale-Lime color scheme.
- : Bakugan with a White, Dark-Azure, Light-Gray, and Light-Blue color scheme
- : Bakugan with a Blue, Teal, Light-Blue, and White color scheme.
- : Bakugan with a Black, Dark-Purple, Yellow, and Silver color scheme.
- Note: This Color has been inconsistently referred to as both Black and Purple. It appears to be represented by a Purple circle on Brawler Cards but by a Black box on the Collector Sheet.
- B.A.M Boost: There are five additional Colors used in the B.A.M. Boost line instead of the primary Colors. Unlike the primary Colors, each of these Colors are tied to a specific Clan. All Bakugan of these Colors are the main color with metallic blue paint. It is currently unknown if these Colors are treated the same as the primary Colors in game play or not.
Rarities
- Diamond: The Diamond variant returns from Generation 2, but no longer use Diamond Evo Cards, but they still have different stats.
- Galactic: New to Generation 3, this treatment is rarer than Diamond. Bakugan with this symbol are a translucent dark-blue color. Their Bakugan Bottom piece has a space-like finish.
- Infinity: The rarest variant in Generation 3. No Bakugan has been released with this treatment currently.
Finishes & Special Attack Symbols
- Titanium: Bakugan with this symbol have a Titanium finish, but they are not Special Attack Bakugan.
- Titanium Special Attack: Bakugan with this symbol are Special Attack Bakugan and have a titanium/silver finish.
- Gold Special Attack: Bakugan with this symbol are Special Attack Bakugan with a gold finish.
- Gold & Titanium Special Attack: Bakugan with this symbol are Special Attack Bakugan with a gold & titanium/silver finish.
Scoring Symbols
- Health: One of the three Bakugan Ability Modification Boost scoring zone types.
- Speed: One of the three Bakugan Ability Modification Boost scoring zone types.
- Strength: One of the three Bakugan Ability Modification Boost scoring zone types.
Gameplay Symbols
- Enemy Territory: Your Bakugan gets a bonus if it landed on your opponents Gate Card.
- Reroll: You can Reroll your Bakugan once if it's losing to your opponent.
- Crash: Your Bakugan gets a bonus if it landed on your opponents Gate Card.
- Draw: You may draw and play another Brawler Card.
- Versus: Your Bakugan gets a bonus if it was brawling against a certain type of Bakugan.
